XENIA GLEN is an award winning actress and filmmaker (producer/writer). As a young actress Xenia won a scholarship to the Sylvia Young Theatre School where she was scouted by the Mark Jermin Management. Xenia's unique experience as a Filipino-British actress inspired her to become a filmmaker; her work explores marginalised and underrepresented communities. Xenia’s recent work includes PORCELAIN which she co-wrote, produced and starred in; the film won the Roundhouse Film Award and was featured at the Last Word Festival. In 2017 Xenia became the youngest ever awardee of the Film and TV Charity’s John Brabourne Award; following this she launched the production company SLEEPWALKER. Xenia then joined MISFITS ENTERTAINMENT as the junior producer and script editor. She has also been selected for filmmaker development schemes such as Encounters ‘Widening the Lens’ and BFI NETWORK X BAFTA CREW. Her other acting credits include TV (BBC's The Sparticle Mystery), theatre and several commercials (Sony, Snickers, Childline, Kit Kat). In 2019 Xenia is working on the following films:
SLENDER - "A young girl struggles in her pursuit of the perfect body."
In the second of a trilogy of experimental shorts, Slender explores the concept of body image in the digital age and how far someone will go to achieve the look they desire… Xenia will star in and produce the film which has received funding from the Ex-Animo Foundation (currently in pre-production).
TABULA RASA - "A Filipino night cleaner struggles with isolation as an immigrant in a new country."
TABULA RASA was shortlisted for the BFI and BBC Born Digital Scheme. Xenia will perform in a supporting role, she will also produce the film which is inspired by her mother.
THE UNCERTAIN KINGDOM - Xenia is producing/co-writing a film to be directed by Ian Bonhote for the Uncertain Kingdom film scheme.
